Do you mean Russian as the application language ? As far as I know, HA/MA manage 8 languages but nor Russian. If you mean to have Virtual Singer (that works in HA nad MA), I should say Russian is more or less managed. I haven't personally used, but some people on the forum have done it.

I mean Russian as in Virtual Singer. I know that Melody Assistant does not have the script option for Other Languages like in Harmony Assistant.  I was wondering if there was a way for me to use something like Other Languages in MA.

El idioma Ruso, parece no estar completado su desarrollo. Por eso tampoco aparece en la lista de H.A.
Por cierto: H.A. y Melody utilizan los mismos V.S.

Hello,
as shown by Pepe, Virtual Singer includes a list of languages.

Historically, before their inclusion in VS, these languages were created using the "Other Languages" script.
This script is Harmony only. We can still create new languages using it, so they may have some languages in script not included in VS, because experimental, not completed...

In this topic you can see that Russian is not included in VS. I'm not the author of the russian file, and I didn't try it, so I don't know how it is completed or not.

Thank you! However there is an incomplete file able to be downloaded. I downloaded that. Is there really no way for languages not included in Virtual Singer to be used in Melody Assistant?

The only way would be to manually add the phonemes between brackets, based on what you can read in the file, or SAMPA codes.

Manual here : https://www.myriad-online.com/resources/docs/melody/english/vsrules.htm

This is tedious but it could work. The script does this instantly, but the script is only for Harmony.
The script read file which says b=B2, a=AIS, so if you have the syllab "ba", write ba[#B+#AIS]
(random exampe, I've not checked the file)

...or you can try Harmony for demo, apply the script, save your file, and go back to Melody.

And if you write a lot of russian, buy Harmony

By the way the current version of the Russian definition file is — say — better than nothing but far from being complete.
Personally I have given up because choir members are either unable to read the language or able to read it and are dissatisfied by the result.
For any “uncommon” language i prefer to issue 2 scores: one with the original text, another one with an approximate phonetic transcription in French, ie something French singers can read almost “naturally”. It’s certainly unsatisfactory but when people spend 3/4 of the rehearsal discussing vainly about the pronunciation of a Nordic dialect instead of improving the way they perform the melody, it’s not satisfactory either.
