In a merged staff, is it possible for each voice to have its own distinct dynamic volume?
When not merged, each of these dynamics refers to only one staff (not "Apply to all merged staves") When merged, both dynamics "point to" the same note.
Both staves use the same instrument sound but are assigned different instrument names.

True ! Apparently, during the merging process, HA seems to force the "apply to the merged staves" parameter, which would sound logical since graphically speaking they belong to the same staff and also illogical in the case of two voices (e.g. in a SA TB layout). However, the "apply to this staff only" parameter can be applied once the staves have been merged. I coucl'nt find a way of inhibiting the reset when merging the staves.

However, if the two staves have individual Volume Curves, then these remain distinct when the staves are merged. Only one curve is displayed (the uppermost staff); below, the alto volume curve is not displayed but is clearly dominant.
The dynamic markings ff pp etc are then marked Not Played (purely graphical).
