HA on Mac

After copying a (.myr) file I created in HA 993 on Ubuntu, I tried opening it in HA on my Mac running Catalina. It wouldn't open because I had created it with a newer version of HA. So, I downloaded and installed 993 on my Mac. The app opens with a message to the effect that Apple cannot check the 'integrity' (my word) of the application file. I am therefore currently unable to use 993 on my Mac. Any thoughts ? Thanks

Hi, I think you missed the "Read me first" : " 1• If you get a MacOs security message when you launch the application, make sure you have authorized applications that are not from the Apple Store via "Apple menu> System Preferences> Security & Privacy> General> App store and identified developers" or right-click the application icon> Open. " Best regards

To be honest Didier, I did miss that initially but I had already authorized applications as suggested, for a previous app. Since reading 'Read Me First' I have checked my compliance but I have not observed a difference.

Je voudrais ecrire en francais mais c'est trop difficile pour m'exprimer. Donc un de ces jours.... I have had this setting to allow apps downloaded from outside the app store enabled since I bought my MBP in 2018 and enabled that. I think the problem here is not that HA is downloaded outside the App Store. The problem is additional security in macOS 11.2.3 Big Sur, which is what I am running. So with HA 9.9.3 I get “Harmony Assistant 9.9.3.app” can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software. With 9.9.4beta I get “Harmony Assistant 9.9.4beta.app” is damaged and can’t be opened. You should move it to the Trash. I have downloaded 9.9.4beta multiple times and it always gives me the same error. And when I try to go back to 9.9.2e I get a white splash screen followed by "Process: Harmony Assistant [2934] Path: /Applications/Harmony Assistant 9.9.2e.app/Contents/MacOS/Harmony Assistant Identifier: com.myriad.harmony Version: 9.9.2e (V2.3) Code Type: X86-64 (Native) Parent Process: [1] Responsible: Harmony Assistant [2934] User ID: 501 Date/Time: 2021-05-02 09:58:51.781 -0400 OS Version: macOS 11.2.3 (20D91) Report Version: 12 Bridge OS Version: 5.2 (18P4347) Anonymous UUID: E2D16196-D810-72BF-B6E1-53B532304F2E Sleep/Wake UUID: FF9430DE-F27F-4CFA-94DC-5B8EB3D01A3C Time Awake Since Boot: 20000 seconds Time Since Wake: 2600 seconds System Integrity Protection: enabled Crashed Thread: 0 Dispatch queue: com.apple.main-thread Exception Type: EXC_CRASH (SIGABRT) Exception Codes: 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000 Exception Note: EXC_CORPSE_NOTIFY " I'm pretty sure this is all related to macOS Big Sur.

That's good to know. I'm on 11.2.3. Maybe I need to upgrade. I will try that.

I upgraded to macOS 11.3.1 and tried to run HA a few times and always got the same error message. Then I left System Preferences > Security & Privacy open and tried to run 9.9.3 again. This time, although I already had "Allow apps download from: App Store and identified developers" selected (had that for a long time), I got a separate message about HA. I authorized that, had to do a few more confirmations that I wanted to run it even though it was not previously shut down correctly, AND IT RAN SUCCESSFULLY! I am back now with HA on the Mac! Running it on Windows works fine but I prefer running it on the Mac and that works now! I apologize if I did not read the readme closely enough to know I should have done that in the first place. Je suis vraiment navre. Thank you.
