Bonsoir! I've been fiddling to try to get rehearsal tracks for my choir (English, French, Latin) and am not aiming at realistic simulation of voices but just to emphasize the articulation of each word for correct pronunciation. This is especially important where the language is not the mother tongue. So I have tried lowering pitch and vibrato variations to zero. This helps some but there are some strange glitches between syllables that I don't understand. Is there any default (plain) setting that will allow the consonants to really stand out? Attaching two pics of what I have started with. Any advice would be so greatly appreciated. Thanks/merci/gratias!

Difficult to say in general. The parameters you show are part of the "Voice", and certainly some voices are more appropriate to meet your objectives as others. The default and standard voices are rather poor, but in the voices you can get from the server there are quite good ones. The ones called "Robert" in particular.

| Andre, thanks for your response. I've been juggling some more and seem to have reached a "best solution" with the neutral male voice and all pitch variations and vibrato pulled right back. I'm thinking of adding a second track without VS (bowed bass or bassoon) to reinforce the bass tones. However it would be really nice to find a tweak to emphasize the consonants to enhance pronunciation. Again, not aiming for realism but to enable non-readers to nail the syllables before the choir director nails them

In my experience there really isn't much you can do to enunciate VS. You could edit the fragments but I don't know enough about it to help you, sorry. I do also experience glitches in consonants in VS but a re-render of your track usually helps. The only thing I could recommend is to manually edit your tracks' volume in another program. I personally use Vocalshifter. Vocalshifter :http://ackiesound.ifdef.jp/download.html The website is in Japanese but don't worry the program has a UI setting for English.

Just a thought. Try reducing the 'pressure time' of all sung notes to something like 90%. ( Select all ...go to edit/actions/ change pressure time .. set 90) Not a natural effect, but see if it makes the words clearer. Or try even less time. muddle

Another issue is the language of the singer. The British dictionary has some glitches in it, and you might find that the American one works better for your purposes.
