Hello,

The aim of this little poll is to let us know better the OS on which our products are used.
If you are using an OS that is not listed here, or if you wish to add comments, you can post a message in this thread.

Thank you !

Well,

I use windows for programs like Harmony, that natively run on Windows and not on Linux. If the Myriad programs would run on Linux, I would use them on Linux, (Kubuntu in my case). I normally work on Linux.
Of course I can use WINE or virtualization, but I don't want my systems tainted.

Up to that, there is powerfull music software for the Linux platform, such as Rosegarden for midi sequencing for example. Depends on what you want to do.

But I don't mind switching between OS. For the purposes I use music software for, Harmony suits my needs best. So, boot on, Windows!

You can find some here, but there are more places. http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/linux/

I set up a Windows computer solely so that I could run HA.

If there was a Linux version I would use it.

Hi rbek,

I think Olivier's question is about the system you use the most, not on which one you run HA... so I think you can choose the "Ubuntu" answer.

I use MA 7.4 on OSX 10.4 (Tiger) most of the time, simply because that's the OS I'm usually booted into. I have it installed on a G4 PPC with 1.25 GB RAM.

However, I prefer to use MA 5.9 on OS9 since it displays a much better responsiveness. Scrolling and cursor movements are *instant*. In Tiger, every cursor move lags, even if only a little, but still noticeably, which gets a bit annoying after a while.

I have a new machine that "should" have had Windows 7 installed but I am staying with  XP for a few months more until more penguins fall off of the ice and I can see that there are no sharks or seals in the water to eat me.
