Can't find folder "GMDigit/"

Receitly, on a newly formatted APFS case-sensitive partition,
I Installed macOS 12.6 (21G115) and used Migration Assistant
to migrate fron my Big Sur startup volume.  Then
I installed melody_assistant_796c.dmg and melodyplayer_666c.dmg

How am I supposed to launch Assistant ane Player?  I recall a
Myriad Manager, and I find one each deep within Assistant ane
Player.  When I click on either, nothing happens.  When I click
on Melody Assistant.app, I get an endlessly repeating alert:
The Program has encountered an error
Can't find folder "GMDigit/", please check
the application has all access rights.
Player behaves similarly, but if I click Continut several times
it finally launches.

In https://www.myriad-online.com/en/docs/faq/faqsoundbase.htm I find:
... This file is copied then unpacked in the "GMDigit" folder
   of your preferences

Where should I find "your preferences?"  In Mac language, I'd expect
"/Users/paulgilm/Preferences", where "paulgilm" is my User ID.

How can I configure Assistant and Player so that my option I can
open a general MIDI file I downloaded from the Internet with either
Melody Assistant or Melody Player?

Thanks,
Paul
